Action For Kids has been given the go-ahead by our Trustees to apply to the Department of Education to open a Special College.

The proposed free school will be for students aged 16 to 19 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and will be one of the first of its kind in the country.

We aim to open the doors to the first 20 pupils in September 2019 in a new purpose built building adjacent to our current Hornsey offices.

The specially developed Free School curriculum reflects a key OFSTED recommendation that those educating high needs learners should "focus on developing personal, social, employabilty and independence skills."

The college will eventually cater for 60 students over 3 year groups. The college will be an additional service to run alongside our current work.
