Close To Home is William Hill’s new commitment dedicated to making a positive difference in their communities.

We were delighted when they approached us to about becoming one of the first Close To Home partner charities and the colleagues who support us are dynamic and proactive. They delivered collection tins to all the branches in our borough and organised a Race Night to raise funds

One of their very exciting ways of supporting us was by setting up new and bespoke customer service skills workshops for young adults with learning disabilities at their training department close-by in Finsbury Park. Together with Action For Kids' tutors, training modules were tailored to young people with learning disabilities and broken down into six interactive workshops with sessions and role plays covering some of the most important skills areas like communication, self-awareness, listening, remaining calm and making eye contact. One of the students on the course progressed to a work placement and then paid employment in an admin role at the WH Head Office.

Our students really flourished! Thank you William Hill.

We looked at lots of different charities in the local area and decided to support Action For Kids which is a local charity based in Haringey. We got a bunch of colleagues from the area involved and built a Customer Service training programme specifically for the charity, which delivered 6 training sessions over 12 weeks in our training facility in North London. It gives me a real sense of pride to know I have made a difference in my local area.
