"This means we can work with you to help you get your voice heard."

Our unique transition programme encourages independence and focusses on creating opportunities so our students can live their lives more like others their age.

For under 19s our Education & Training programme helps school and college students with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities.

We offer:

  • Work experience in a real working environment at our head office and at Bikes For GoodCauses bike shop and cafe.

  • The opportunity to prepare for their future and ultimately gain paid employment.

  • Different media tools and personalised ways of working to help individuals express their aspirations.

While at Action For Kids, students gain confidence and useful experience by completing real work in our busy office.

They learn how to answer the telephone, improve their computer skills, help with reception and administration duties, and support events.

While doing this we focus on employment skills such as:

  • Punctuality
  • Communicating with colleagues, peers and managers
  • Working in a team
  • Following instructions and prioritising tasks
  • Focusing on, sustaining interest and persisting with tasks
  • Completing tasks to a good standard

We currently work with schools and colleges in Haringey, Islington, Enfield, Barnet, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Hackney.
