Current Trust Supporters

Our portfolio of Trusts and Foundations is varied, from small and local to some of the largest Trusts in the UK.

Below are just a few examples of the work being supported by some of our funders.

Awards for All

In 2007 AFK was awarded a grant of £9,744 by Awards For All. The grant was given to purchase some new IT equipment for our north London office in order to improve the speed of the equipment used by staff and students who attend our in-house Work Related Learning Service. This also enabled the students to run more sophisticated computer packages than the ones they were using.

The Jack Petchey Foundation

The Jack Petchey Foundation has been supporting our Work Related Learning Services specifically in the areas of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest for a number of years. In 2005 they donated £10,500 to the programme.

We received a further grant of £10,500 from the Foundation in 2006. 'It's such a boost to all the young people and staff to receive ongoing support form organisations like this' said Catherine Bicharel, the Work Related Learning Manager 'It means we can continue to offer work-related learning opportunities to a diverse range of young people with learning difficulties and disabilities'.

The Echo Trust

In 2005 we received £6,500 from the Echo Trust for the provision of mobility aids. Many Trusts choose to fund a specific item of mobility equipment on our waiting list, and as items can range from under £500 for a muscle development aid to £20,000 for a sophisticated powered wheelchair, any size donation can make a real difference

Action For Kids funded the costs of these specialsed sports wheelchairs (opposite) for the Aspire 'Force' Youth Basketball Team, north London.
