Millie's Appeal
Amazing things can happen for a disabled young person when somebody takes the time to talk with them, understand what's important in their life and help them as an individual. When we first met Millie, thanks to the support of people like you we were able to provide her with a liberating powered wheelchair that was the essential first step towards helping her fulfil her dreams. Then AFK arranged work experience for Millie at two big city law firms and pretty soon Millie was confident enough to join our Peer Mentor programme and enthusiastically pass on her skills and experience to others.
We are committed to getting to know young people like Millie and helping them find greater independence and opportunity. Often this means providing mobility aids and an on-hand technician to provide ongoing repairs and maintenance. It can also mean setting up life-changing work placements for children about to leave education, providing Peer Mentoring to help them achieve their individual goals, or simply being on hand to talk to children and families when they need us.
Because every disabled child is an individual, your gift will be used to help young people in whichever way they need us.
