January Appeal for Lily
Lily was diagnosed with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy by the family doctor two months ago, just before her second birthday. The doctor explained that, without treatment, Lily's muscles would become weaker and weaker, making normal everyday activities a challenge. Please help us raise enough money to buy Lily a special mobility chair called a Wizzybug. The earlier Lily begins using her Wizzybug, the quicker she will be able to get mobile and join in with her brother and sister's games.
The Wizzybug is designed to look like a toy car - a way of making a powered wheelchair exciting and fun for a child. The earlier Lily can begin using her Wizzybug, the quicker she will be able to get mobile and join in with her older brother and sister's games. With the help of a Wizzybug, she will be able to move around at home independently, and start investigating her world, just like her favourite children's TV character: Dora the Explorer.
Lily's such a bright, happy child. Mastering the Wizzybug controls will take her no time at all. And, with mum and dad's supervision, she will be able to have fun in the park with her friends. The Wizzybug even comes with a detachable trailer so that she can take her books and toys with her wherever she goes.
Unfortunately, Lily's family don't have the £3,500 needed to buy a Wizzybug. Without one, they are desperately worried that she will get ‘left behind' as other children of her age start to walk, run and play together. It really would be wonderful if, together, we were able to give her a Wizzybug so that she could be involved with so many more activities.
