Working in partnership

Charity of the Year and Corporate Partnerships

Action for Kids work with companies in a variety of ways. These include Charity of the Year partnerships, employee volunteering, donations and payroll giving.

Charity of the Year or longer term partnerships are a particularly great way of generating goodwill with your customers, suppliers and the local community.

Our team is highly experienced in managing corporate partnerships, large and small, and co-ordinating employee fundraising across the UK.  We will work with you to create a tailored fundraising programme offering employees a very personal relationship with Action For Kids and the opportunity to see how their fundraising can change the lives of disabled young people across the country.

Action For Kids would like to thank the following organisations for their continued support:

gamesaid_logo.jpgGamesAid is the UK video games industry based charity. They distribute funds to a diverse range of charities as a means of giving something back on behalf of the industry. Action For Kids is grateful for the funding and support they have provided since 2009. The efforts of their members have made a real difference to the independence and wellbeing of children all over the country. For instance last year they purchased a powered wheelchair with a standing facility for Sonny.

dscf0910.jpgMembers of GamesAid were on hand when the new chair was delivered to Sonny at his school. The first thing he did was raise the chair to give his mum a kiss - a wonderful and very moving moment for us all.

Sonny said "My mum used to have to get everything for me because I couldn't reach things in my old wheelchair, but now I don't have to ask her and I can do it myself. My new chair's brilliant and now I'm really looking forward to going to my new school in September."

We were recently delighted to find out that we had been selected as one of GamesAid's charity partners once again and we were presented with an enormous £29,000 donation by Sarah Seaby, marketing and PR director at Bethesda and chair of the GamesAid trustees. We cant thank everyone there enough for choosing to continue to support us - this sort of funding will have an amazing impact on the future independence and wellbeing of disabled children and young people all around the country.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Sainsbury's Muswell Hill for their very generous donation of Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers. We used these to purchase a Boccia kit - providing access to a great sport that everyone can play.

Staff and customers have now raised £420 in the store to support our programmes. Shruti, Ashley and Yi Ling were delighted to show them round and thank them for another generous donation.

Sainsbury's Wood Green raised over £500 last year by organising sponsored non-uniform days, Tombolas and cake sales. Parm and Debashree visited recently to present a cheque to Yi Ling, Jolene, Michelle and Yvonne. We're really grateful for the fantastic efforts of the colleagues and customers. Their fundraising has really made a difference to us over the last 12 months, and they have really helped to raise the profile of our charity in the local community.

bce_new_logo_green_backround1.jpgAction For Kids works closely with Thornton's Budgens of Crouch End in a number of ways. The "Pennies for Plastic Appeal", donates 1p for every bag not used at the store to Action For Kids and the store provides work experience placements and administration tasks for the disabled young people on our work related learning programme.

Andrew Thornton, Manager and Owner of Thornton's Budgens of Crouch End says "We are thrilled to be involved with Action for Kids as they play such a vital role in the community here in Crouch End. Its also great that we can use the team to help with our local direct mail campaign, rather than giving the work to a commercial organisation."

bmlogo.jpgBurson Marsteller supports Action for Kids during their annual charity week, through a range of activities, volunteering and lending their skills to the charity. Over the last three years they have raised more than £15,000 by running half-marathons, and organising cake sales, film nights and auctions. They have also been extremely generous with the gift of their valuable time - taking groups of disabled young people to the Houses of Parliament and the Science Museum. We cant thank then enough for everything they do.

Why support Action For Kids?

  • Action For Kids is a smaller charity so every pound you raise will make a huge difference to the lives of disabled children and their families, across the UK.
  • We work with children nationally, and your support can help to fund equipment for children close to your offices, branches or stores.
  • Employees can raise funds for tangible pieces of mobility equipment, and they can see exactly how the money they raise can help to improve a disabled child's life, literally overnight.
  • The Action For Kids Fundraising team is experienced in working with corporate partners. We can deliver a partnership that puts employees at the centre of the cause, and at the centre of a fundraising and awareness campaign that will instantly transform the lives of disabled children in their local communities.
